A rare New Zealand colonial George Boyd Newton pottery majolica classical dolphin jardiniere stand, the stepped triangular base supporting three classical dolphins, their bodies entwined and the tails spreading to support the circular top dish. Rich blue green dominant majolica glaze with dark caramel highlights. Typically, the base not marked. Small chip to one dolphin. Height 26.2 cm
