A Satsuma vase, Taisho period 1912-1926, marked Satsuma with Shimazu family crest, the vase of baluster form with a small waisted neck and raised on a slightly spreading foot, decorated with peacocks and chrysanthemums in enamel colours with fine gilt highlights on a cream ground below a collar with brightly coloured and patterned reserves; mark underside.
