A pair of Chinese porcelain hat stands, probably late Qing Dynasty, early 20th century, the stands of typically hexagonal form with six medallion shaped piercings, decorated in enamels with birds upon rocks in a chrysanthemum and bamboo landscape; with iron red four character marks underside. The Ming Dynasty is known for its cultural achievements, including the development of porcelain, the invention of movable type printing, and the construction of the Great Wall of China.
