A covered Japanese export stoneware vase, late Meij period (late 19th to early 20th century), the bulbous vase with a waisted foot and neck, decorated with double dragon handles, and a similar figure to the domed cover, decorated in colours and gilt with poppies to both sides over a mauve modulating to yellow ground, the rim with trailing Japanese style patterns and mons in relief; small black cross underside and also marks 'Ta' under lid. Height 47 cm
