New Zealand Medal, reverse dated 1860 to 1861. (S Jenkins, AB HMS Pelorus), impressed naming. In Longley (RN & RM) 12 officers and 74 naval ratings (total 86) of the ship received this medal; BBM states 117 medals. Jenkins was a carpenter and Douglas-Morris (NM) records that he was wounded in the head at Waitara Camp 11 September 1860. With research note.
