A 16th or 17th century Indo-Persian mail and plate shirt (Kavach). Shirt of riveted mail set with plates, the two front plates fitted with three buckles. Devanagari inscriptions to the front right plate of the Deccani honorific 'Davish Sahib' and the 'Adoni' inscription. This proclaims that the shirt was captured as booty by the Maharajah of Bikaner at the siege of Adoni in 1689. Ref.
