William Whysall's match used cricket bat: full size 'Sykes - Roy Kilner' cricket bat, signed in the ownership position by William Whysall, and match-used in the 1924-25 England tour of Australia. Signed on the fronr by 1924-25 England team, 18 signatures including Arthur Gilligan, J.B.Hobbs, Herbert Sutclliffe & Maurice tete; signed on reverse by 1924-25 Australian team, 12 signatures including Herbie Collins, bill Ponsford, Victor Richardson & Jack Gregory. Bat varnished, so signatures in Fair/good condition, bat with some tape reinforcement at base. William 'Dodge' Whysall played 4 Tests for England, was a Wisden Cricketer of the year in 1925, and played 371 first-class matches for Nottinghamshire. He died tragically in 1930, after slipping on a dance floor, injuring his elbow, and contracting septicaemia.
