Chinese square shaped. Lidded box. For use as an ink container, probably Pakaktong. Bearing an incised picture of a young Chairman Mao together with nicely written calligraphy and a date in English characters for 1949. 10.1. Inside probably tin lined and has sustained some rust. The outside is tarnished and shows signs of wear and use. Width 9.5 cm. Height 2.7 cm
