A Japanese Kutani twenty one piece tea service, mid 20th century, in the western manner, with six cups, saucers and plates, a milk jug, bowl and a larger plate, in a predominantly iron red, grey and puce palette upon a soft duck egg ground, with figural reserves opposite serene lakeside scenes with plum blossom, all with black and gilt decorated rims and a scattering of butterflies. Jug height 12.5 cm. Bowl height 8 cm. Diameter 15.5 cm. Cup height 5 cm. Plate diameters: 22 cm, 18.5 cm. and 14.5 cm
