A 19th century trolling fish hook (pa kahawai), with a paua shell body supported on an iron/wire frame which has been bent to form a slightly barbed hook point. Lashed snood, no line. Provenance: Obtained in Southland in the 1950s. Length 10 cm. Width 1.7 cm
