A rare Chinese underglaze blue and iron-red decorated bowl, Daoguang period, 1821-1850, very well painted on the exterior with scrolling lotus and the eight Buddhist symbols, a central Shou medallion in the centre, four character Hall mark, 'Made for the Hall of Bright Colours'. 9.5 cm high, 18 cm diameter. Provenance: R & V Tregaskis, exhibition 12/4/1986, cat No. 43
