Heavily sawn giant pounamu slab, a superb example of the scale of labour undertaken by the early pre-European Maori master craftsmen. This example is uncompleted and represents phase three in the manufacture of a toki pou tangata. The top face is flat and smoothly polished., a medium-light pounamu (nephrite). Length 41 cm. Width 15 cm. Depth 5.5 cm
