Vanuatu mask very naturalistic features with a large, flared nose. Inset boar's tusks to sides of mouth. Painted patina with white, red and black natural pigments. Inserted bamboo skewers protruding from chin and forehead. Banana leaf and cobweb backing. Used for special ceremonial occasions. Malekula Island. Length 14 cm. Width 11 cm (mask only)
