An 18th century hei tiki, a type I form carved in kawakawa variety stone most likely fashioned from an adze. The face displays triple ringed eyes embellished with red sealing wax (added later). Natural scars to the stone and countersunk suspension hole. Provenance: ex Webster collection, height 9 cm.
