A George IV silver cruet stand, maker's mark Ak, London 1827, the central handle with shell and foliate scroll design, the rounded rectangular body decorated with flowers and scrolls engraved with initials in a cartouche, on shell and anthemia cast lion paw feet (lacking bottles). From 1811 until his accession in 1820, he served as Prince Regent during his father's final mental illness.
In English furniture design, his reign from 1811 to 1830 is known as the Regency period.
