A Loba headrest, Democratic Republic of Congo, this headrest would have been used by the owner to elevate the head and protect the hairstyle of the wearer. Carved from a single piece of wood. A concave rectangular top with metal nails around the edges. The top is supported by a kneeling female figure. The figure has heavy body scarification along her arms, stomach, and back, height 21.7 cm, width 24 cm, depth 13.2 cm
