An early eighteenth century Chinese Imari bowl, the deep flaring bowl painted and gilt with large flowering spray reserves and wheel medallions within narrow bands, on carved wooden stand, with maker's mark to the underside and further inscribed 'Coombes, Queen Street, Bristol' and dated 1782 (Edward Combes was a late 18th China burner in Bristol, using re-firing with an enamel or a frit to repair ceramics rather than staples), height 9.5 cm, diameter 19 cm
