A scale model of the Swedish warship 'Vasa', in wood, fine linen canvas and cotton twine, with painted details, brass canons, other moulded and coloured decorative features, supported in a cradle, 78 cm high,100 cm wide, history. A Swedish warship, Vasa, was built between 1626 and 1628 only to sink 1300 metres into her maiden voyage on 10 August 1628. The vessel was discovered in Stockholm harbour in 1959 and is now on display at Vasa Museum.
