Hall Ludlow, the 'Petal' Haute Couture gown red silk bias cut with asymmetric hem gown, covered with hundreds of hand sewn petals surrounding a central rose on the bust. Dress is fully lined with silk, and corsetry boning. Worn in 1958, likely to be made in the same year. Included in Dressed to the Eyes, RMIT Gallery, Melbourne, 2005, an exhibition celebrating the work of Hall Ludlow. Size not labelled, fits like a 6-8 Au
