Ref: 6710LN. circa 1996. 40 mm stainless steel case, black aluminium graduated 24 hour bezel, automatic Rolex caliber 3186 28800A/h, functions hours, minutes, seconds and quickset GMT (24-hour-hand), black dial with superluminova hands and hour markers, 78790A oyster bracelet, additional blue/red (Pepsi) bezel insert. Box and warranty certificate. Swiss made. Debuted in 1989 and running in Rolex's catalog until 2007, the GMT Master-II ref. 16710 is possibly one of the best examples of the iconic crowned brand's transition from the 20th to the 21st century. Featuring a slimmed-down 40 mm by 12.5 mm steel base compared to its bulkier predecessor in the ref. 16760, the 16710 defined an entire era of GMT Master-II watches with its iconic Pepsi bezel and highly legible dial, along the way prepping the groundwork for even more updates to the classic design in the decades to follow.

- Bezel - On a clock or watch, the bezel is the metal frame into which the watch or clock glass is fitted. In clocks, the bezel may include a hinge and a flange, in effect a door to the face of the clock. In jewellery the bezel is a band of metal with a projecting lip that holds the gemstone in its setting.
