[Jack Dempsey, the 'Manassa Mauler,' had many important fights in his long career, but one of the most defining bouts was when he was matched up against Luis angel Firpo on September 14, 1923. Firpo would be the first Latin American to challenge for a Heavyweight title, and the match was attended by 80,000 people in New York city.
