A late nineteenth century Maori hoe, ceremonial paddle, finely and extensively carved all over to leaf-shaped blade and handle. The convex side of the blade with finely carved tiki heads with inlaid paua eyes and the reverse with rauponga patterning. The shaft terminating with carved wheku head. Blade inscribed Kahira., 160 x 13.5 x 3 cm
