Khanjar rare Omani dagger with belt and scabbard, 19th century. A fine piece displaying spectacular craftsmanship and silver filigree work, obviously commissioned for a noble of high rank. The Khanjar is considered a national symbol in Oman and is featured on the Sultanate's national emblem as well as the one rial note. The finest example seen to our rooms. 33.5 cm long. . Provenance: Private Collection Melbourne. Acquired from a Scottish estate sale in 1973.
