Georg Jensen, a gold and moonstone torque designed by Vivianna Torun, the oval moonstones collet-set to either side, signed Georg Jensen Torun, numbered 1414, mounted in 18ct gold, gross weight approximately 26.20 grams, inner circumference 45 cm. Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube was a Swedish master jeweller. She was the first female silversmith in Sweden to have her own workshop. Born on December 4, 1927 in Malmo, Sweden, she went on to study at the Academy of Industrial Arts in Stockholm. In 1948, Torun travelled through France where she met artists and celebrities, including Brigitte Bardot and Pablo Picasso. The artist went on design some of her most famous jewellery for the Danish Company Georg Jensen. Torun died on July 3, 2004 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Today, her works can be found in the collections of the Museum of modern Art in New York, the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm, and the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
