A Japanese Two-Panel screen, by Yuge Koho, Taisho period, featuring a bold and dramatic design of an eagle atop a huge pine branch with details on the pine and the eagle in well executed relief work. Yuge Koho was a pupil of the famous painter Domoto Insho, who won the Imperial Art Academy prize in 1925, and received an Imperial order of cultural Merit in 1965. Koho was regarded as an eccentric painter working in both Western and Japanese styles. 165 cm high, 167 cm wide
