A very large yam mask, Abelam people, Maprik Region, Papua New Guinea, yam masks are not usually this big; no doubt made for a very important (large) yam at the yam lining ceremony. Red and white stripes make this exampe very dramatic, height 69 cm, length 50 cm, width 19 cm
