Fighting shield, Wahgi valley, Western Highlands, Papua New Guinea, Wahgi shields are believed to be the largest in the world. This is a superb example, early post contact, painted in traditional yellow and white. The main motif is a bold 'Sun' design; also with fine weaving on top edge, height 156 cm, width 68 cm
