Thursday Island & Far north Queensland: large format album with red leather spine and corners, gilt titles 'Thursday Island', circa 1985, with approximately 40 albumen print photographs affixed back-to-back to the thick card pages, several titled in the plate, others titled in mss below. Accompanied by a list, which includes several extra images inserted loosely at the rear of the album. Various formats and sizes up to 26 x 36 cm., views include brown, Campbell & Co trading Company, Thursday Island, Burns Philp offices and P.J. Doyle, wine & spirit merchant, Thursday Island, Aborigines on the banks of the Mulgrave river, view of Thursday Island township, Pyramid mountain, Gordonvale, with aborigines in foreground, Barron Gorge, Friday Island Quarantine station && Leper station, Goode Island station, etc.
