An 1855 Tasmanian land Grant by purchase, October 1855 land grant to Edward John Dawes of a Township allotment in York town, van Diemen's land, signed and sealed by the Governor, Sir Henry Edward fox young. (the price of £16/10/- is detailed in manuscript and a map illustrating the grant is shown at left, also signed by William Henty, Colonial Secretary. 40 x 69 cm., the land was on Aldridge Street to the north with the West arm of the Tamar River to the south.
