Two lithographs, one after Edmund Thomas (1827-1867) and one after William Mcleod, Thomas: 'The rose bay Quadrilles', lithograph, sheet music cover, signed lower right, Mcleod: 'First landing', lithograph with hand colouring. Provenance: Thomas: the Ruth Simon Collection, privately acquired from the above in 2005. Other Notes: William Stanley (1820-1902) composer of the Quadrilles was an English born musical prodigy who came to Sydney in 1837 as a member of the 80th Regiment of foot, and on his discharge three years later attained local fame as a musician and keyboard performer.
