Walasse Ting Chinese (1929-2010), untitled (abstract calligraphy), ink on paper, canvas, wood, consisting of two panels of paper joined in the centre, laid on a stretched canvas, the black ink abstracted calligraphy applied with both brush and cloth, with a rare early red seal mark for Walasse Ting applied to the centre of the work. 100 cm high, 190 cm wide. Provenance: given to the vendor's parents by Michael Sullivan, Christensen Professor of Chinese Art at Stanford University and author of 'The Arts of China'. They were friends who had met in Burma.
