A Chinese painting of figures in a landscape, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or earlier, ink on paper depicting a gathering of monastic figures under a tree, inscribed and with two red seals. Framed and glazed. The painting 99 cm high, 45 cm wide .The frame 134.5 cm high, 66 cm wide. Old wear and darkening to the paper, small old repairs, some small losses to the ink work.

During the Ming Dynasty, China experienced a period of relative stability and prosperity. The government was centralized and bureaucratic, with the emperor at the top of the hierarchy. The Ming Dynasty is known for its cultural achievements, including the development of porcelain, the invention of movable type printing, and the construction of the Great Wall of China.
