An old Fijian hardwood kava bowl, traditional form with six tapered legs, the flat rim with presentation plaque engraved 'To Mr Bill Kingi From Staff of I.I.D.', plaited fibre cord and two attached shells to the apron lug. Diameter 57 cm. Note: Bill Kingi of Rotorua gained a BCom and qualified as a Chartered Accountant before becoming the financial secretary to the multi-national W.R. Carpenter company. Subsequently he became the Cook Islands financial secretary where he was instrumental in exposing the fraud of the Premier, Albert Henry.
