Two Chinese sets of painted silk and soapstone inset erotic panels, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century, each set comprising two panels of painted silk on card backing, within a cloth bound frame, set with painted soapstone relief carved elements, mounted so that one panel can be removed from the larger frame, to reveal a second erotic panel beneath, each pair further encapsulated within a Chinese book style box. All four panels depict figures within classical Chinese garden landscapes with pavilions., each set approximately 30 cm high, 24.5 cm wide. Provenance: Purchased Sotheby's Belgravia, London, 28 November 1977.
