  • Firing Crack - A firing crack is a crack in a porcelain or stoneware item that occurs whilst the item is in the kiln. They are usually caused by faulty design, where one part is thicker than the surrounding area, and being thicker it cools more slowly, setting up a stress with the surrounding area. Firing cracks are not often seen on modern mass produced porcelain, as the damaged items are discarded during prooduction. However they are seen in earlier items and artisan-produced objects.
  • Bacchus Motif - The Bacchus motif is a design that features the Roman god Bacchus, who is the god of wine, parties, and celebration. Bacchus is often depicted as a young man with long hair and a beard, holding a bunch of grapes or a wine cup. The Bacchus motif is often used in art and design as a symbol of abundance, revellery, and enjoyment. It can be found on a variety of decorative items, including glassware, ceramics, and other home decor items. The Bacchus motif represents the joy and celebration that can be found in social gatherings and the pleasures of good food and drink.
  • Campana Form Vases or Urns -
A campana form vase or urn is a type of ceramic or metal container that is characterized by its reverse bell-like shape. The shape is typically wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, with a curved or flared opening at the top. The vase or urn may have a handle or handles on either side of the opening.

The campana form was popular in ancient Greece and Rome, and the design has been revived in various forms throughout the history of art, including the Renaissance and the Art Nouveau period.
