A mahogany-cased mantel clock, John Pickford, Liverpool, circa 1830s, the enamelled Roman numeral dial with domed glass cover set within a upright rectangular case with an arched top and plinth base, the front decorated throughout with anthemia and other classical details in relief, the sides with gilt brass grilles and ring handles, 43 cm high, 30 cm wide, 16 cm deep. Other Notes: John Pickford is recorded as a clockmaker working in Mersey Street, Liverpool, between 1814 and 1851.
