A Mintons dessert plate in the Persian taste, displayed in the Prince of Wales Pavilion at the Paris International Exposition, 1878 â??24.3 cm diameter The prestige of the Prince of Wales Pavilion inspired all those responsible for the architecture, the interior, and the exhibits to work toward the ultimate refinement of design and greatest technical virtuosity. Mintons made a specialty of imitating the metalworking techniques as well as the shapes and colors of Eastern artifacts.
