An old Maori carved wood and stone hafted adze, the mildly tapered shaft carved with a stylised horned Maori figure, the other side with a sinuous serpent, the grip with lineal carved detail, the stone toki (adze blade) of Duff type 3A, well lashed with woven fibre, spiral carved detail to the pointed haft end. Overall length 61 cm, approx. length of blade 11 cm. Provenance: The Flower Family Collection. Being assessed for registration.
