A fragment of ancient Egyptian cartonnage, from an Egyptian mummy case made of tightly fitting layers of linen or papyrus glued together, decorated with the god Anubis (the god of embalming and the dead), approximate date after 300 B.C., overpainted at a later date, framed and mounted under glass. Together with a stone head probably after an ancient Greek carving (on later stand).
