Good Chinese famille vert late Qing Dynasty porcelain jar and cover, of baluster form, carved with wooden fret work cover, above a baluster body, decorated with reserves of mountain scenes alternating with flowers, on ground of scrolling lotus, in rich tones of green, yellow, purple and black, rubbed four character mark toi base, height 25 cm. During the Ming Dynasty, China experienced a period of relative stability and prosperity. The government was centralized and bureaucratic, with the emperor at the top of the hierarchy. The Ming Dynasty is known for its cultural achievements, including the development of porcelain, the invention of movable type printing, and the construction of the Great Wall of China.
