Warburton, Colonel Peter Egerton. Journey across the western interior of Australia. London, 1875. Octavo, with folding coloured route map (with slight marginal repairs) and 9 wood-engraved plates, original gilt-pictorial cloth., First edition of this account of an epic journey: after leaving Alice Springs in April, 1873, and surviving only by eating their camels, the exhausted party reached De Grey Station, east of Port Hedland in Western Australia, having escaped the Great Sandy Desert to become the first explorers to cross the continent from the centre to the west.
