A large Carlton Ware 'Swallow and trees' ginger jar, production period 1928-1929, a variant of pattern 3279, in a pearlised pale blue grey colour with a fine pendant collar of tree foliage in cobalt and mauve colours richly scrolled with gilt, with birds in flight above a blue, mauve and tangerine rockwork and floral base, backstamp underside, no apparent pattern number. Height 26.5 cm
