A Junyao glazed bowl, probably song-Jin Dynasty, 12th-13th century, with rounded sides covered inside and out in a thick lavender, milky blue glaze thinning to a mushroom tone at the rim, the glaze pools near the footrim, diameter 14 cm, height 5 cm. Provenance: Old Sydney collection, acquired in New York, 1960s. Other Notes: Due to lack of temperature control the purple/red blush is fired out
