A 19th century Chinese silver presentation trophy salver, circular with piecrust border and serpentine broad flattened rim, cast and engraved with dragons, prunus boughs and bamboo; the central section with six panels decorated with birds, butterflies, bamboo and chrysanthemums framing a presentation engraving: 'The Peking States, 1899 (won by) Harvey Bellingham's Phonograph'. Some details attached verso; maker's marks stamped to back: Hung Chong, Canton & Shanghai, c1880-1930. Diameter 38 cm 1260gms.
