A large old African rhino horn, natural condition, unmounted, outer curvature approximately 52 cm, weight approx 1798gms. Provenance: The estate of World War II RAF Air Commodore Patrick Geraint Jameson, DFC and bar, DSO (N.Z. 1912 - 1996). In the 1970's Jameson inherited the 15th century Dardistown Castle, Ireland, complete with contents, from the estate of Harry Osborne in recognition of their friendship and his heroic actions during World War II. Jameson developed tuberculosis and returned to New Zealand to convalesce, the castle was sold but the majority of the contents were brought out to New Zealand. His estate collection was originally sold at Cordy's in 200.9 cm
