A rare pair of Derby musicians, circa 1760-70, in the Chelsea style, he with bagpipes and his lady with a small lute, each seated within lattice arbours reminiscent of Chinese Chippendale mirrors, and raised upon rococo moulded bases; the female musician illustrated in Barrett & Thorpe's 'Derby Porcelain' (1971), plate 72.
