A 'famille-rose' 'butterfly' vase mark of Guangxu the globular body rising to a trumpet neck, decorated in iron-red and 'famille-rose' enamels with numerous butterflies in flight, divided by a frieze of detached stylised lotus sprays and shou characters around the shoulders above a raised gilt band, all between a yellow-ground ruyi head band below the rim and upright lappets rising from the straight foot, the base inscribed in iron-red with a six-character mark 38.8 cm high
