A highly decorative war shield, probably from Borneo, carved from a single slab of wood, of 'propeller' form with two blades issuing from a central boss, all carved in high relief with curvilinear tendrils, the uppermost blade surmounted by a seated figure. Carved to the back of the slab with an integral handle behind the central boss. Raised on a black painted display stand. Height 162 cm
