A rare 18th century Chinese ridge roof tile, decorated with different figures and scenes on both sides. Originally discovered in the old trading port of Penang, Malaysia. Very wealthy Chinese merchants would place a row of these ridge tiles on their roof (these houses have now largely been demolished). Various faults. Height 72 cm. Width 62 cm
