English hallmarked sterling silver beaker with a gilt wash interior, commemorating the '800th Anniversary of the Mayoralty of London, Wates City' with the crest and latin text 'Domine Dirige Nos' and recognising the first Mayor Fitz Alwin 1188-89 and the then current Lord Mayor Collett 1988-89. Stamped to base 'Garrard & Co Ltd 112 Regent Street.W 91/800' in a fitted case with a certificate signed by Edward Green from Garrard & Co Ltd, John Brooke -Little & Norroy Ulster King of arms. London, 1989, maker Garrard & Co Ltd. Height 14 cm. Weight 352g
